Monthly Kindermusik Playdate

During the Thanksgiving season we focus on being thankful for the blessings in our lives. We are especially thankful for our family and friends! Nothing brings us together like making music. Come join us as we sing, dance, rhyme, move, and play together, and celebrate just why our families matter so much.
A Playdate is a one-time Kindermusik class. $32 plus $12 per sibling includes a craft and an instrument for each child to take home.

Foundations: Ages 0-12 months

of new parents! You will learn simple routines and musical

Level 1: Ages 1 & 2 Years
Parents & Child Participate Together
Tuesdays @ 11 AM | Thursdays @ 10 AM

November Theme: Yum!
All we can say is…Yum! You’ll “gobble up” this unit’s strawberries and pancakes, apples, raisins, and other yummy treats. Then you’ll move, move, move! Little bodies learn movement, coordination, and body awareness through contrasts–so get ready to move your body in high-and-low, large-and-small, and even energetic-and-calm ways.
Bonding moments and giggles abound as you and your little one rock, dance, snuggle, sing, learn new music games (sometimes with tickles!), play instruments, dance and cuddle together. Watch with delight as your child begins to walk, talk, sing, play, clap, and dance all on their own!

Level 2: 2 & 3 Years
Parents & Child Participate Together
Thursdays @ 11 AM

November Theme: Time for Lunch
Come and get it! There’s nothing that gives us more joy and comfort than sharing good food and good stories with those we love. In this unit, we’ll explore food – from preparing to eating – through songs, vocal play, instruments, and focused listening activities. So wash your hands and put on your apron. It’s time to chop the veggies, mix the pancake batter, and grow some peas. It’s Time for Lunch!
Your child will love this mix of singing, dancing, stories, exploring and playing instruments. The engaging activities will help your child develop motor skills, listening skills, and social skills like turn-taking and sharing. Your independent little toddler still needs lots of cuddles, and you’ll have lots of opportunities for those special moments together.

Level 3: Ages 3 & 4 Years
Parents & Child Participate Together. (Siblings ages 1-7 may also enroll)
Fridays @ 11 AM

November Theme: Home Sweet Home
Get ready to spruce up the house in this home-themed unit. We’ll turn tasks such as cooking, cleaning, sawing, painting, and hammering into fun, pretend-play activities that make us move more creatively and use our imaginations. At the same time, we’ll explore the relationship between sounds and symbols, and build community as we sing and play together. Whether it’s a great big house (or a den, nest, or burrow!), there’s no place like Home Sweet Home!
Level 3 classes are family style classes. They are designed for 3 & 4 year olds but siblings are welcome, too! The 3 and 4 years olds enjoy and benefit from a curriculum designed especially for them and activities are also chosen for adaptability for the younger ones. Families build connections, grownups learn ideas for music exploration and play at home, and there’s room for everyone to grow.

Level 4: Ages 4 - 6 Years
Parents join the last 15 minutes.
Thursdays @ 1 PM

November Theme: Rhythms of the Land
In Rhythms of the Land your child will explore the diversity of Native American cultures, music styles, percussion instruments, and the difference between steady beat and rhythm. Activities include playing drums, bells, and rattles as well as singing, chanting, creative movement and a story time.
Your preschooler will fall more in love with music as they enjoy singing songs, playing a variety of percussion instruments, and moving to music from a variety of cultures. Activities also include a story time, exploring music vocabulary and music notation, playing music in an ensemble, and incorporating their ideas in a newly “made up” verse to a song. Schooling readiness continues with a focus on language skills, physical coordination, and social skills.

Musicians: Ages 5-7 Years
Parents join the last 15 minutes.
Year 1: Tuesdays @ 3 PM
Year 2: Thursdays @ 3 PM | Fridays @ 3 PM
Kindermusik Musicians Year 1
November Theme: Glockenspiels - Pre-Keyboard Skills!
Music learning for 5-7 year olds is all about experiencing music through play and hands on exploration. This month we begin learning the glockenspiel - a pre-keyboard instrument - to expand our understanding of steady beat, melody, and rhythm. We are learning to read music notation and play the music on our new instruments!
Kindermusik Musicians Year 2
November Theme: Music of Latin America, Hawaii, and Asia
While experiencing songs and music games of these cultures, we will explore improvisation, continue to expand our understanding of music notation, and play songs on the glockenspiel and dulcimer. We will also participate in music ensembles with glockenspiels, dulcimers, and a variety of non-pitched percussion instruments.
Your child will LOVE Kindermusik Musicians and all the instruments and materials included. In this class, young musicians learn to play several instruments, read and write music, explore orchestral instruments, and discover music from a variety of genres and cultures. It’s the perfect prep for piano or any of our group or private lessons.
