Aynslee D.

“Aynslee has worked so hard on her voice lessons. Her consistent positive attitude, excitement for performing and trust in the process has resulted in a significant increase in her vocal range and tone quality. Aynslee always comes into her lessons with a smile and a desire to improve and learn new things."

Leighton M.

"Leighton is nominated for student of the month because of his passion for progress! He plays at home consistently and is always focused in piano class. He has progressed through two books in four months and has been working extra hard to make it to the third book in record time - no doubt partially fueled by competition with the other two boys in this class!  He has a super friendly personality and is just an all-round great student!"

March Practice Focus:

When Your Child Doesn’t Want to Practice... Find out why and solve the problem.

Talk. Communicate. Listen. Find out what it is. We’re sure you can identify with at least some of these.

  • The music is too hard.

  • This stuff is boring, or too easy.

  • I don’t understand what I’m supposed to do.

  • I already learned that.

  • My instrument doesn’t work right.

  • It hurts – I am in pain when I practice.

  • I don’t have time to practice.

  • I don’t have any place to practice.

For good ideas on how do address these issues, we recommend this article: https://carolr3.sg-host.com/child-doesnt-want-practice/

Teresa began studying cello in elementary school and began private lessons in high school. During that time she played in many orchestras and chamber ensembles. After a hiatus to finish college, start a family, and begin a career as an elementary teacher and reading specialist, Teresa returned to cello playing and continued improving her cello skills through study with private teachers.

Now retired from public school teaching, Teresa has been teaching cello for many years. She is currently the principal cellist with the Three Rivers Orchestra and has performed with many other local ensembles including the Three Rivers Chorale, the Josephine County Messiah Sing-a-long Orchestra, the Rogue Community College Chorus, and the One Eleven Theater Company.

When not playing the cello, Teresa is reading, working crossword puzzles, walking her dogs, playing with her two cats, book-clubbing on zoom, and doing yoga. She enjoys spending time with her husband David and her sons Evan and Quentin.
