October Theme: Bluebird, Bluebird

Chirp! Tweet! Quack! Bluebird, Bluebird is a sound-rich flight (of fancy) into the sky, where we'll explore birds, feathers, and the outdoors.  We will use the sounds of birds and other animals to help develop baby's hearing and emerging vocal skills, and we include sign language to further enhance the communication between you and your baby.

Join us for this sweet class that features baby massage,
baby exercise, instrument play, singing, creative
movement...and friendship and support in a community
of new parents! You will learn simple routines and musical
activities to help your little one grow & develop and enjoy
tender moments and joyful play with your little one.

October Theme: Way Up High

You and your little one will swoop and flutter like birds and butterflies, as you explore spacial development and positional vocabulary.  Experience opposites like fast/slow and high/low with your voices, bodies, and movements, as well as instruments and props, in Way Up High!

Bonding moments and giggles abound as you and your
little one rock, dance, snuggle, sing, learn new music
games (sometimes with tickles!), play instruments, dance
and cuddle together. Watch with delight as your child
begins to walk, talk, sing, play, clap, and dance all on
their own!

October Theme: Up in the Sky

Up, up , and away! In this unit, we’ll explore all the things that find their home in the sky through songs, instruments, vocal play, and listening activities. Get ready to fly kites, meet Mister Robin, pretend to be clouds, and reach for the stars. There’s so much fun and learning Up in the Sky!

Your child will love this mix of singing, dancing, stories,
exploring and playing instruments. The engaging
activities will help your child develop motor skills,
listening skills, and social skills like turn-taking and
sharing. Your independent little toddler still needs lots of
cuddles, and you’ll have lots of opportunities for those
special moments together.

October Theme: Make Believe

Let’s climb aboard the S.S. Pretend and set sail for Royal Island! We’ll dance the Pirate’s Treasure Dance, visit the castle of a king and queen, listen to a story about a silly pirate, and build a pretend bonfire on the beach. Best of all, we’ll exercise our imaginations and express our creativity in countless ways. Each Make Believe lesson is an action-packed pretend-play adventure that focuses the fun on literacy, movement, and sequencing. Ready to go? Anchors aweigh!

Level 3 classes are family style classes.  They are designed for 3 & 4 year olds but siblings are welcome, too! The 3 and 4 years olds enjoy and benefit from a curriculum designed especially for them and activities are also chosen for adaptability for the younger ones.  Families build connections, grownups learn ideas for music exploration and play at home, and there’s room for everyone to grow.

sounds abound.png

October Theme: Sound Abound

In a world without instruments, could you still make music? Of course you could! Music was born from creativity—people using their voices, bodies, and objects they found, assembled, or invented to make new sounds. Join us as we explore rhythm patterns, creative sound-finding and sound-making, graphic notation, and storytelling—because the creative brain is where Sounds Abound!

Your child will fall more in love with music as they enjoy singing songs, playing a variety of percussion instruments, and moving to music from a variety of cultures. Activities also include a story time, exploring music vocabulary and music notation, playing music in an ensemble, and incorporating their ideas in a newly “made up” verse to a song. Schooling readiness continues with a focus on language skills, physical coordination, and social skills.

Kindermusik Musicians Year 1 October Theme: Year One Lessons 5-8 Rhythm, Timbre, Drip-Drop, and Tweet!

Children use their glockenspiels in class this month and take them home in lesson eight!  We continue our experiences with steady beat and add the concepts of rhythm and timbre. Our activities this month revolve around stories about weather and birds and the sounds that they make.

Kindermusik Musicians Year 2 October Theme: North American Folk Music

Appalachian music is the first featured musical style this year. You and your child will build a two-stringed dulcimer instrument with materials that we’ll provide. Then in class we’ll learn to play chords and simple melodies on the instrument you built together.

Your child will LOVE Kindermusik Musicians and all the instruments and materials included. In this class, young musicians learn to play several instruments, read and write music, explore orchestral instruments, and discover music from a variety of genres and cultures. It’s the perfect prep for piano or any of our group or private lessons.
