Jazz Band (ages 10+ with one year of lessons): Fridays at 3:30 PM

Worship Band (ages 10+ with one year of lessons): Fridays at 4:30 PM
A band gives your child something every musician needs—a chance to make music with other people. As they rehearse together, students develop confidence, learn to listen and respond to one another, and experience the excitement of creating music as a team. They also build practical skills that simply can't be learned alone, including locking in with the rhythm section, balancing their sound, following a count-off, recovering from mistakes without stopping, and staying
together from beginning to end.
All bands are open to students ages 10 and up with at least one year of
lessons on their instrument.
Students provide their own instrument beginning on the first day; keyboards and drums are provided. Instrument rentals are available through Great Northwest Music.
Jazz Band (ages 10+ with 1 year of lessons):
Our Jazz Band is for students who would like to play swing, blues, and jazz. Students learn classic jazz tunes, read charts (the music format used by jazz musicians), play together as a band, and discover the musical conversation that makes jazz unique. Keyboard, guitar, and drums form the core of the band. Students who play saxophone, clarinet, or other wind instruments are encouraged to contact us to determine whether their instrument is a good fit for the group.
Price: $98 a month
Members receive 50% if also taking private or group lessons with us

Worship Band (ages 10+ with 1 year of lessons):
Our Worship Band is for students who want to play contemporary Christian music. On keyboard, acoustic or electric guitar, or drums, students learn to play from chord charts (the music format used by contemporary worship musicians), keep the song on track as a group, contribute ideas, and take direction. They also have the opportunity to help choose the music and express their faith through their instrument—a perfect fit for young musicians who someday hope to play with their church worship team. Instrumentalists who also sing are encouraged to let us know—this band
needs a voice out front.
Price: $98 a month

Deborah Pratt
Pop/Rock Band (ages 10+ with 1 year of lessons):
Our Rock/Pop Band is for students who want to play rock and pop music with other young musicians. Students play keyboard, electric or acoustic guitar, or drums while learning to read chord charts (the music format used by most contemporary bands). They'll also learn to listen to one another, balance their sound, and play confidently with other musicians. Together with their teacher and fellow band members, they'll help choose songs that are a good fit for the experience level of the band as well as contribute ideas and work together to create the arrangement for each song. Instrumentalists who also sing are encouraged to let us know—this band needs a
voice out front.
